01
From Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York or Chicago, expect 20 to 30 hours with connections. There are no direct flights from the US mainland; the best routes stop once in Asia.
October, just after the peak dry season, can bring lower fares. Book early, set price alerts and try mid-week departures. Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways offer pre-booked children’s meals and bassinets.
02
From London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam or Rome, expect one or two stops. For a London return via Singapore, book several months ahead and stay flexible on dates.
Groups of ten or more can negotiate rates with airlines or a specialist agency.
03
Australia is close, so flights are short and frequent. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Darwin all have daily flights to Denpasar, most of them direct.
Several Australian charter companies also fly private jets to Denpasar.
04
December is a peak month, so book six to eight months ahead. Read free-cancellation terms closely: they often apply only to higher fares.
Ubud has no airport. All international flights land at Ngurah Rai (DPS), with transfers, taxis or ride-hailing onward. For a lower footprint, choose airlines with carbon-offset schemes or newer, more efficient aircraft.
05
Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Korean Air, Japan Airlines, AirAsia and Batik Air link Bali with many Asian cities.
The dry season, April to September, is peak time and deals are harder to find. Book early, or try late May or early October for better value with similar weather.
Journey times include stops. Airlines change routes often, so check schedules closer to departure.
